We just meant to use the bus for the hop on – hop off feature for two days, but ended up with so much more. On our first trip on the bus our guide was Owen and he was great. He was gently teasing the group I was with, and had a very easy going manner about him. He told us a lot about the city interspersed with humour. On our second trip our driver was Joe and he was also the guide. Joe was fantastic! He had that perfect UK style of humour, and his wit was amazingly funny. He kept us in stitches the whole trip from the Guinness Brewery to O’Connell street. If there’s any way that you can get on Joe’s bus – I highly recommend it – you won’t be sorry!

“Open top bus tour”

We have enjoyed the most wonderful open top bus tour of Dublin. This was thanks to our lovely driver/guide for the tour called Eoin. From the minute we got on the bus, Eoin made us feel so welcome and almost like the tour was personally for us. His humour had us in stitches throughout and he was very knowledgeable about the city. We were very sorry to leave the bus at the end of the tour. Thank you.

“Great way to end our Ireland vacation.”

We had several great drivers, but our last driver, Eion, was the best! He had great knowledge, anecdotes, and a wonderful personality. Overall, the bus worked well for our family as both a means of transportation and a tourist activity.

“Great entertainment a bonus with useful sightseeing resource”

Dublin's not huge so you could do a circuit of all the attractions in three days by foot if you were young and fit, but we found it really handy to take this two-day transport option - specially to get us to the unmissable and very moving tour of Kilmainham gaol and amazing architecture at Kilmainham Royal Hospital which are well off the main drag. We took the bus on two days - the first the longest we were aboard and what a delight! Our driver Dec, a tuneful Elvis soundalike and standup comedian par excellence, had us in fits and singing along, personalising Dublin's story of the last 60 years to great effect. And next day Geoff (not the driver) gave us a cooler and highly informative view of the history. Brilliant!

“Great introduction to the city”

Having only a very short time to see the city we had decided an open top bus would be a good idea. Cleverly the ticket sellers were waiting as we stepped off our courtesy bus from the port terminal and offering a cruise boat deal which saved us 3 euros each. We had to wait a little longer than promised for the bus to arrive as it was early in the morning and the rush hour had not died down.
Ann our driver was clearly passionate about her city and gave a lively informative and witty commentary. Non English speaking customers should be aware that the tour has driver commentary rather than a recorded guide so alternative languages are not an option, but this allowed the drivers personality to come through and enabled her to react to what was happening at any given point.
The route was logical and very interesting with optional routes and plenty of stops allowing the opportunity to hop off and explore.
We felt the tour offered great value for money and the various offers printed on the map which included meal deals and complimentary coffee and Guinness promotions were advertised and promoted during the trip.
All major sites were covered from the cathedral, the Guinness brewery, Jamesons distillery, the zoo, and the university college and at each point additional information was given about what could be seen and details of entry etc.
The day was helped by the Easter sunshine and we found not only great fun but good value for money. It certainly showcased the city incredibly well and made us want to go back for more.
We would use the same company again as it really is the best way to get around and explore,.
